Franklin D10, 9+8, black, #17

Post by Eric Philippsen »

Franklin D10:

- 9 pedals, 8 knee levers
- Black
- Excellent condition
- Refurbished, set up & adjusted by Mike Cass
- Standard height
- All original
- Standard, E’s on the left, etc.
- Serial number 17, old logo
- Original single coils
- Case is fiberboard. Not sure if original.
- $7750 shipped to lower US.
- Steel will be professionally packed.
- No trades, too much gear as it is. Then again, I’ve always had a soft spot for a vintage Gibson or Fender with no issues.

This is a nice Franklin.

Case is a Woody Woodell made case, looking identical to the case for my Franklin, #18. Since I bought the guitar new in 1979, I’m sure Eric’s case is original and the pickups appear to be Franklin single coils, wound by Mr Franklin. Mica on early Franklins was often a matte finish so constant attention to smudges and finger prints is not required and these guitars did not get a high polish package for similar reasons plus added cost. Tuners are original Kluson tulip heads, as these are bushed by key head and thought to add a slight ring to the sound, per Paul Jr. in 1980.
