Certano benders on a National D8 console

I bought a set of Certano benders to install on my Peavey PowerSlide. I then received a call from some friends that wanted me to play in a band they were forming and add steel, guitar synth (fiddle, banjo), and whatever else. In doing so, I pressed my National D8 back into service. I want to put the benders on the E11th (It's open E with G# & F#, I think, after high E. I was told it's E11) neck of this guitar. The problem is, the part of the guitar past the bridge, slopes down a bit. Should I make a wedge to even it out, or take the chances with it skewed back a bit? Thanx in advance.
