Mike Johnson withJanee Fleenor Larry's Diner

Post by Tom Vollmer »

When the best player is discussed I would rather say who do you like their style the most. I like Mike as much as any Steeler.Past Sat on Larry's Country Diner a great example
With Mike and Fiddler, Vocalist A Team player Janee Fleenor
and Guitar, sorry missed his name, just a trio but such great taste, great playing and pleasure watching and playing.
Always looks like Mike is enjoying when he plays.
Catch this show if you can.

I believe the fiddler's name is Janee Keenor. I may have misspelled it, but it is with a K.

Keenor is her maiden name. She married a guy and last name is now Fleenor.

Wow! Not that is a strange outcome. Imagine when they were first introduced!

I did get to see this show Tom and I agree it was over the top. Mike, Jenae, and Ben did a wonderful job on it. Top notch musicians right there.

Where can you seethis show? I don't have cable. Only Apple TV. I'm assuming it's RFD network.

Janee Fleenor

I was at the St. Louis convention about 20 years ago and Herby Wallace had brought Jenee to join him on stage. She was, of course unknown, at about age 16. She really lite up the stage when Herby gave her the nod to solo. Afterwards she was asked by other players to join them. She appeared in quite a few steel shows after that, then, I think, she joined Terri Clark's band on the road.
