Does anyone know who played steel on the Dan Seals song "God must be a cowboy at Heart"? Thank you.

I believe it was Doyle Grisham.

Didn't he also play for Ricky Scags?

Jimmy Buffet. But he also may have played for Ricky.

Doyle never played for Ricky. He's been touring with Buffet for years.

Thanks Bruce. That's what I thought. I seem to remember seeing him on other albums where he did the session. But, I never heard of him being in any other band than Jimmy's. Talk about a great gig.

I've seen Doyle Grisham listed with Randy Travis, too.

I always thought it was Doyle Grisham as most of the music sites state it was him and tonally it sounds familiar. That is a tone and style I love.
Paul Franklin plays some sweet Pedabro on the later acoustic recording too which I also love.
