Thank you George, I knew it was Johnny but couldn't recall the last name.I used to know all those guys as I was learning by listening to recordings.
I was in the Navy and stationed in French Morocco. We played the E.M. club every weekend. Carl Smith was really big about that time ,1952- 1954.
The music was so good then. I miss those days.

Carl Smith was a very special person who gave Johnny the spotlight. Johnny was an eary influence on me back in the 50's when I play a double nest Fender Stringmaster.i was present at St. Louis when he was inducted into the Steelguitar Hall of Fame. I believe he donated his Fender to the Steelguitar Hall of Fame.
