Hello, how much rod should extend pass the pullfinger on the tuning end of the guitar? (Emmons LL2) I hope I have asked this correctly. Thanks. |

+/- 1", it will vary a little depending the position of the rod in the corresponding bell crank. The stock rods have ~3/4" of thread. The most important thing is that the threaded portion of the rod is completely beyond the hole in the steel scissor. If the threads are exposed in the hole they can hang up and cause erratic tuning issues. The nylon spacer between the tuning nut and finger should bridge over any exposed threads _________________ All lies and jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest - Paul Simon |

Thank you so much, I think this is not the correct rod for this pull. I just acquired this guitar and I was having a tuning issue with it. Ian,thank you for your input. |

Eddie, You don't want the thread being pulled thru the changer. It will act as a file. Describe your prob. I'm sure us genius's can help you. _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |

Thanks for the replies, my problem is: the the pullrod is too long and needs to be shortened. Even with the spacer and tuning nut, the actual rod extends out passed the endplate, And it still doesn't tune to pitch. It just needs to be shortened. But thanks to both of you for trying to help. I really appreciate you! Eddie |

Exposed threads will cause noise and you can feel it in the pedal action. Maybe you can position that rod in the first row of bellcrank holes. |
