Besides the standard B to C#, what is the most common change on the 10th string? Raise or lower?

Whole-tone raise. Some folks who lower 5 to A# on a vertical lever also lower 10. The so-called Franklin pedal sometimes lowers 10 to A _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Thanks, Ian. I suspected that might be the case since that is what happens on the 5th B string as well. Makes sense to the overall tuning. I was thinking about other changes besides the standard B to C#.

I have a fairly standard lever that lowers my 2nd from D# to C# and 9th from D to C#. A few years back, I also incorporated the addition of dropping the 10th string from B to A on this same lever. It's a great change IMHO.
If you aren't also raising 10th B to C# with the A pedal, you should of course be doing that first. |

Same as others, except I lower 10 from B-A on my A pedal (while raising string 5 from B-C#). I love This change, but I hate not having the B-C# raise on 10, so I have that on LKV. This works (and allows for a nice sus9 with string 5 when I raise 6 from G#-A on the B pedal), but the combination of A and LKV is a little awkward. Since I often engage RKR to lower 9 to C# along with lowering 10 to A, I'm thinking of trying out Mark's idea of getting the string 10 B-A lower on that knee, and putting back the standard B-C# for string 10 on my A pedal. |

Give it a try Dan. I think you'l like it.
On my guitar, the knee lever I'm getting this drop of 2, 9, and 10 with is my LKR, which is perhaps unorthodox. This allows me to get to the B pedal with the lever engaged easily. If you're on a vertical lever for this change, a simultaneous B pedal might be more awkward, but I don't know. If you try this, please post how it worked out for you |
