Fender FVP-1 Volume Pedal for PSG

Waiting on my Justice S-10 Jr and have a question.
I have a Fender FVP-1 volume pedal (250k pot) that I bought to use with 6-string. Never used it - just not needed. My question is: is it good enough to get started with? The whole rig will sit in my practice room until I'm good enough to play at jams or sit-in w/friends. Do I need to put out money up front for a VP while I'm trying to figure the whole thing out?
Thanks,
Rick

That will work for sure beautifully, you wont need a 500k pot for practicing.

Probably be fine. The biggest issue is the jacks are on the front of the pedal. You just have to arrange the cables so they don't interfere.
Not having any experience at all with these, I can't evaluate the taper. It needs to be a fairly smooth transition from off to on without any sudden jumps or dead spots.
The 250K pot is just a little darker sounding, but it will be fine until you are ready to upgrade. That way, you can concentrate on your learning process and take your time deciding what type of VP you might want in the future.
FYI, I have an old Ernie Ball VP with a 250K pot that I use with pedal steel sometimes. I get on with it just fine. My opinion FWIW.

Thanks, Larry. That's what I was hoping to hear.

Jerry, thanks.
I have tendency to go out and buy "stuff" before I really evaluate the need. As long as the VP is sufficient, I feel my real initial woodshed time needs to be understanding the pedals/levers.
BTW, PSG ETA is mid-December. Getting close.
Thanks for the help,
Rick
