Are the Rollers for each string gauged on the pre Royal Precision Mullen guitars.
When my bar is resting on the strings, contact is on 1,2and10 strings. The other seven strings are open unless you apply down pressure to The bar.
If the Rollers are gauged I would suspect they were removed from the shaft for cleaning and randomly put back.
Any help appreciated.

Jim Palenscar makes sets of gauged rollers. He did two pair for my G2. They're great.

From your description of the problem, The guitar may already have a set of gauged rollers that are out of order.
Measure the grove diameter of each roller, With a dial caliper, Add string diameter to grove diameter, And see if you could move the rollers to make an even line of strings, From string 10 to string 1.

I don't think I've ever had a guitar that wasn't that way. The other 7 strings buzz a little unless you put slight pressure on the bar. I think it's normal -- unless you really have to press down a lot. |

| If the guitar is a PRP (pre Royal Precision) and the rollers are original, they are not gauged. I’d suggest what another forum member has already proposed, call up Jim Palenscar and see if he’s got a set. Gauged rollers usually solve the problem you are having to some degree. When baring the first fret on most guitars I’ve played, you do need to apply a small amount of downward pressure if you want strings in wide grips to all ring. |

Its very important to keep strings coming back from keys as straight as you can get them. This helps keep rollers free and working like a bearing.

Bob. I understand your thinking BUT, I've also found it advantageous to pull the string to the side, slightly, to mitigate a rattle being caused by a less than perfect fit between the roller and the slot it sits in. RP
