I’ve been looking for tab and fill ideas on this song for years. I know just about every band has to play it but no one tabbed it. thanks for posting!

Good Hearted Woman tab

Post by Michael Sullivan »

Thank you Rick Myrland for your positive response on the tablature for "Good Hearted Woman". I was in the same boat as you, frustrated because I couldn't find the tab for this song. When I discovered Mike Headrick's website I really liked his instrumental version but again reached a roadblock because even he had not yet tabbed it. That is when I proposed to him that I tab his songs and he could verify the accuracy so that this and many other songs could be made available to other steel players. There are many that resist tablature and for some reason fear it but this is one of those moments where it's too good to overlook it. I learned these songs and tabbed them all by ear because I knew other steel players would appreciate them. However, like most of us, until that muscle memory kicks in gear you tend to forget and feel like you're constantly relearning something, so for me, it sure is nice having tablature to remind you how to play something. Check out his website, it's filled with great material.

Mike Headrick and his Tab / Backing Tracks and just down right great playing has been an inspiration to me me for a number of years. I just finished "Wheels" and learned quite a lot from it. Specifically, for me at least, it opened up thinking about strings 7, 8, 9 and 10 as a place to find and do melody lines and licks. Good stuff!
blah, blah, blah.

But I’m sure glad you do.
