What parts do I need to add a lower to a push pull?

Howdy. I'd like to add a 9th string lower to my Emmons Push Pull. This is a Black Rock Emmons, very similar to the student model.

It already has the RKR lever, I think I just need the bell crank and rod, but there are several available on www.psgparts.com and I'm not sure which is the right one for me.

Here's a photo of the steel...

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your time.

A bellcrank, two 1/2" long spacers, very short spring(1 coil), a .125" rod 1" longer than the distance from the bellcrank to the changer, 3 collars- and tiny lil' fingers~~

If your intention is to use the 9th string lower as a feel stop for when the 2nd string has dropped a half-tone (easy to do and very standard on an All-Pull steel), it is difficult to get it to work like that on a Push-Pull.

There are these Bell cranks for a push pull on eBay. They’re designed to clip over the cross shaft, which means you don’t need to remove anything to install them.

Actually the 1 coil spring I recommended was so that the 9th string would kick in when the 2nd string hit the D note using the method of pulling the 2nd string forward w the added lower spring(which I forgot to mention) and leaving the collar off of the 2nd string lower return push rod, You then adjust the 2nd string D note with the original open note tuner when the knee lever is activated.

Benjamin, thanks for the heads up on the bell crank, I was dreading trying to take that cross shaft off.

Jim and Richard, I was planning leaving the second string as is (not lowering it any further than 1/2 step). I'm assuming that as long as the spring is the right size it should lower just like strings 4 & 8?

Thank you all for your time!

Contact Clem Schnitz. He is the guy who sells those clip-on bellcranks and can put together a "kit" containing all the parts you need, as Jim Palenscar discussed in his post. Clem can be reached at 615-423-3280 and at his email: freedomsauce@comcast.net

Give him a shout. Great guy who loves helping us PP owners out. And he usually includes some DVDs of some old Buddy Emmons and other players' stuff in with the package free of charge.

Thanks John, I actually ordered those parts for clem last week and go them in the mail a couple days ago. Still trying to figure out how to set up everything, but I think I should be good.

Much appreciate everyone's replies.
