Seems like someone long ago tried to make this Sho Bud into a keyless guitar. The cabinet got shortened and while I think the neck is still original scale length, it’s definitely been hacked at. Looks like the remaining end plate has been routed to accommodate the keyless system. Unfortunately I don’t have any more parts for it. $125 shipped gets it out of my parts stash and into yours. Thanks for looking.

Hal Rugg Keyless Prototype
You know, back some years ago, my dad and I was at the Grand Ole Opry and saw Hal Rugg backing several artists. We noticed he had a new keyless ShoBud guitar which made us very curious about it. We also noticed he was having a hard time keeping it in tune and was constantly tuning on it. After the show we followed Hal out the back and watched Hal chuck the thing in the back of his Caprice station wagon and turned around to see my dad and I and said, he was going to let Shot know about that piece of %$%! We never ever seen another one. I just wonder if this could be the decommissioned guitar that Hal tried to play once upon a time?????
