Hey ya'll

I'm looking to put a new nut on my dobro, but wondering what type of glue I should use? I feel like I should do something a little stronger than the average guitar glue, so I figured I'd get some opinions here. Thanks in advance!

What material will you use for the nut. I use bone nuts and make sure all mating surfaces are smooth and flat. Then I use super glue. Super glue has always worked perfectly for me.

yeah its a bone nut. I figured super glue would be fine, just wanted to make sure someone else has had an experience with it before using it

StewMac recommends a drop of TiteBond wood glue, with the idea that string pressure will pretty much keep the nut in place, you just need something to hold it when it's not strung up, and that's also removable. https://www.stewmac.com/video-and-ideas ... setup.html

But I've also used Superglue when I don't think I'll need to replace it again.

I like to use just a tiny drop of Titebond, because if you ever need to take it back off, it's quick and easy. Just heat it up with a lightbulb for about a minute, put a woodblock behind it, give the block a light hammer whack, and voila: it'll pop right off.

I second the Titebond. Super glue is not very forgiving and clean up can be a mess.
