I'm hoping to get some info on Mari Lynn, and am already working on it. The vintage dealer I bought it from is a good friend and is looking for contact info for the family member he bought the deceased Mari Lynn's instruments from nearly a year ago. If need be I may drive down to Citra and ask around. Any gal with custom rhinestone nameplates on her steel must have been photographed professionally.

I had never played a Fender with Trapezoid pickups before. They are incredible. From what I've heard, not all Dual Pro 8s out there today have strong pickups. These are as strong as my Sierras with George L pickups, which are 18k!

And those precious jewels on the nameplates have to be worth at least $10k!

Yes they sound the best with no strings.

I have C6 on the inside neck, Cajun G on the outside neck.

Hello Raymond,

Cajun G is like Dobro tuning with a high G on top. Must have the high G to get the traditional Cajun non-pedal steel sound. For 8 strings it looks like this low to high: D G B D G B D G.

A few players substitute an E for the low B, making it a G6, but most use the straight High-G tuning.

Hey Bob, any recommendations on listening to non-pedal steel Cajun players? I lived in Lafayette for a few years and never saw a steel player in a Cajun band. Would love to hear some!

Randall Foreman on steel. Not using any pedals for this gig. He's a veteran player in this style.

Note that he using a capo bar. This group is playing in several keys, which is not the norm.

Rodney uses the pedals a little, but you can essentially duplicate most of his sound without pedals.
