Wow, thanks for posting! So much great music here!

Can anyone tell me who the steel player who is playing on He’eah at hour 3 minute 27? He absolutely nails the Feet Rogers thing on a Fender. Is it Paul Kim?

Listening to the "Cyrilettes" Laughing it sounds like Jeff has C6 on the far neck. Not sure if it's a pure 6th or includes the low Bb too like C13, didn't see him hitting the low strings too much. I guess it could be A6 too if I'm misjudging the fret positions, but sounds like he's mostly topping out with the 3rd, if I'm hearing correctly...

Closer neck is a bit confusing, I was going to guess B11 just because I thought I heard some 9th chords and that's a pretty common pairing with a 6th tuning.

The chord here...sounds like a 9th...with a 6th/13th on top...1-3-5-b7-9-13

I dunno, if he's on the 5th fret, would that make it a G13 tuning? Well "guess the tuning" is a fun game, but if Jeff comes on here he can set us straight. Great playing!

Malie Lyman, impressive singing and playing too! He haumana o ko'u kumu 'o ia!

Yes it is, the MC did introduce him as Paul Kim at the end.
It's He'eia and I used to do it on slack key 40 years ago. I didn't know it was the King's spot on the Big Island, always thought it was about the popular He'eia Pier on O'ahu even though there is no surf there Smile I guess because it was a very popular song at the restaurant/bar I worked at right up the road in Punalu'u.

Hey thanks!

Yes Malie is really coming along and so fast. I think she sounds better on Alika than her mom, but of course not better than her grandmother Auntie Genoa. Wait till she gets a few years of maturity in her voice, watch out! One of Alan Akaka's best protoges.
