The back is telling me to lighten the load a bit. Who is a good source for split cases that won’t break the bank? |

I just got the small hardshell case for pedal bar and legs from Mullen and kept using the full size case for the cabinet, don't remember how much it was but very reasonable. Shipping figures to be a lot of cost, helps to find a builder near you like Hatton.
Other players have suggested gun or keyboard cases for pedals and legs _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG

two people on the forum that I know of. Kevin Hatton in Buffalo NY and Hugh Briley in North Carolina.
I've built my own but I'm out of the case building. Sold my wood working tools. I looked at making something else work and decided it was not for me. Too finicky. |

Those guys are good, one of them I would never use again due to his poor customer service. Since you’re in GA. The best case maker in the country is in NC. The one and only Hugh Briley! His are Amazing!!.., check out the statements on the Forum Hugh gets it done with absolute perfection!! _________________ I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.

I can appreciate a need for split cases as I have both Sho~Bud Baldwin Crossovers and Fender 2000’s. The Fender 2000 came with split cases because of the issues over weight.
The one major negative I have found with split cases is that sometimes the player and one of his cases-usually the small one with the leg bag and pedal bar-do not end up in the same location.
I can say this with a high degree of certainty because I have (2) small Fender cases each containing new/almost new pedal bars and leg/pull rods bags.
An in-expensive alternative to a second case and also lighter is a soft bag with a shoulder strap for the pedal bar/leg bag-at least to get started.
My two cents! |

Forgot to mention: ask for it to hold a 12 string pedal bar just in case and think of other stuff like mike/music stand, or other long skinny stuff you might want to carry in there and get a slightly wider deeper case if so. _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG

Reddirtcases.com built a great set of split cases for my Zum Hybrids -- with wheels of course on the body case. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I wish I needed a case but I’ve never had the need here at home. |

The Thomas company has been building cases since the 60s or 70s. I believe Wade builds split cases. You can contact him here:

Paddy, I checked with Red Dirt. They’re cases are bullet proof, but heavy. |

Roger, just put a wheel on each of the 4 legs of your steel and you can just roll it around and never have to tear down and set up. You could even pull behind your car!!! _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 3 & 5 The Eagle

Hugh Briley makes a fantastic split case. Mine fits my D-10 Sho-Bud Pro II like a glove _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

Roger the split body case I have is fairly light -- with the body in it, it runs about 26kg which is about 57 pounds ... not that heavy when you have wheels :-} ... but when I fly I use my SKB drum stand case !! _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
