Inexperienced player here in need of a good Volume Pedal. I have read all the discussions but am still having trouble making a decision. Not looking for a high dollar item but I don't want to buy something I will be unhappy with in the future. Anyone have suggestions, or perhaps something you would consider selling?
Best regards, DH |

You may want to consider a Stageone volume pedal for about $100 brand new.

Solid, but lightweight, and well built.
They use a rack and gear, rather than string, to rotate the potentiometer.
I own other brands like Emmons and Goodrich which can cost way more, but find the Stageone works just as well for me.
Plus Doug Earnest is a great, stand-up guy to deal with.
Just my 2 cents. |

I would suggest an Ernie Ball Jr. pedal, can normally be found on Craigslist for between $35.00 to $50.00. Not the best for pedal steel as the jacks are mounted in the front but will certainly get you on your way with minimum expense. These are popular with 6 string players so once you progress to the point of needing an upgrade, should be able to sell it along using the same method. |

You can also get that pedal with the jacks on the side.

Erv- IIRC the old EB pedals had the side jacks, but the new ones on the EB website are all front-loaded. I'd love to find a side-jack new VP Jr.Do you know of a source? |

There are a few used pedals in the classifieds. I have an oldie, but a goodie full functioning basic pot volume pedal over there I would make you a good deal on. There's also a Sho-Bud pedal and possibly others if you poke around over there.
Sometimes Goodrich 120 pedals pop up for a good price.
If you're looking to buy new active pedals, say Hilton, Telonics, Goodrich expect to kick up your investment another or couple hunnert bucks. _________________ proud appalachian american
