I recently had surgery my thumb. I can't keep the bar secure any longer while I'm playing. Does anyone make a bar that attaches to the finger? The slow stuff is not too bad but I drop the bar when I make big changes.

Send a PM to Rob Segal, who is a member here. He has a solution that seems to be very effective for him.

Sounds like the same problems I'm having. I'm thinking of soldering a ring on my bar for my index finger.

Seems like easiest thing would be sticking industrial (10 pound) velcro on the bar and a couple nylon velcro straps around index finger

I'll bet you could modify one of these with a drill and a couple of velcro cable ties to do what you need:

I broke my left wrist years ago, made this to keep playing. Stayed tight and worked well

I use a small piece of medical tape to stick on top of my index finger to secure it to the bar. It works great. No need for making any additional bar attachments, and it works with ANY bar. Having your index finger attached to the bar will make you not need to use the thumb as much...If you need a more secure hold, just add more tape!
You can see pictures of the bar secured with tape in the discussion I started recently here:

I dont have it anymore ,but Melobar back in its day made a tapered bar with two plastic vanes attached to slide your fingers under to hold the bar.Really worked great.Gave it to a friend, wished i had kept it might need it someday.Hope not.

Here is a link to a post from years ago, I had surgery on my thumb, and needed a cast for 6 weeks.

It took a while, but it healed up 100%.
