I'm building some pull rods for a Fessenden. The wire size is 3/32", do any of you know what size die I need to thread them for the nylon nuts? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the information Jim. I'm headed for the hardware store now. I was going to use the next size up because I have the die for it. Thanks again.

I appologize- while 5-32 will suffice- a finer thread (5-40) is better- makes for more accurate tuning- most of the time local hardware stores won't have that size and must be ordered from a place like McMaster-Carr, etc.- |

The pull rods on my Fessy are 7/64" with a 5-40 thread. If you are using 3/32" rods, you should make the thread 4-40. |

Jim, your correct on the 40 threads per inch and that is an oddball size.
Bill, the wire is 3/32" stainless heli-arc wire I had laying around the house, it's a c*^) hair smaller than the stock pull rods.
Thanks to both of you for the info.
Another place with these oddball sizes is Victor Machinery Exchage
in Brookland, NY. This is the web site link to them.

Jerry uses 7/64" rod size, I'm using 3/32" because that is what I had at the house. It ain't a nickles worth of difference in size. I think the 7/64" is rod size and 3/16" is stainless welding wire size.
