I guess 50 years of crud in here. Hope I can put it back together. Wish me luck.

Good luck! I’m looking at doing something like this soon!

WOW! That thing has seen some action! It really has "provenance," or credibility.... or should I say, crud-ibility?

Good luck with the resto. I can imagine it will clean up beautifully.

Well, it’s slow going so far. I got 2 of the fingers clean. I’m using a ronsonol and a toothbrush. Some of this crud is really stuck on there. Almost like
Glue. I wonder if I can use a scotch brite?

I use carburetor cleaner. Sold by the gallon with a parts basket inside. Works on all your parts besides the changer.
These are always fun projects. I'm sure you'll make yourself proud of the end result.

That’s a cool idea. That thing kinda looks like a deep fryer for parts cleaning. Slowly getting there now. I can already tell a difference in just how freely these fingers pivot now. There was so much waxy gunk in there — no wonder it was sloppy.
