Hi folks. I just transcribed the steel ride to this great version of Buck Owens' classic "Under Your Spell Again", performed by Curtis Potter on the album Texas Dance Hall Music. There are two steel players credited on the album, Buddy Emmons and Lloyd Green. The tone sounds like Green to me, but some of the licks are characteristic of Buddy. Does anybody know who is playing steel on this cut?

| Thanks for the info! The opening lick from the intro to "Sittin and thinkin" is used a lot in the steel backing part, which was making me think Emmons. The steel ride has a couple of nice nods to Tom Brumley in it. |

I just listened to short parts of every song on the album on Google Play. Comparing the way Emmons plays on this album and the way Lloyd plays on this album I would agree with Jordan, I think that it's Lloyd on this track.

The "tells"...If Mooney used Chalkers tone he would still sound like Mooney. The difference between Mooney and Emmons is in the phrasing, the technique, the emotional value placed on each note, and on and on...
