MW Slowing?
After installing Malware bytes it is slowing pc down. Any work arounds? Maybe a SSD? Thoughts? Thanks Dale.

I've never experienced any performance issues caused by Malwarebytes.
What is your computer (CPU, Memory). What Operating System?
If its slowing down, an SSD won't make any difference.

Turn Off Your Ant-Virus Program
I'm assuming your using Malwarebytes Free therefore I will not mention any Malwarebytes Premium settings.
Try temporarily turning off your anti-virus program. It might be that your antivirus program and Malwarebytes are fighting each other.
Go into settings > general and look at the "Manual scan performance impact" setting. I set mine for "Manual scans take priority". I want the program to scan as quickly as possible.
Go into settings > security and look if the program is set to launch during start up. I normally disable this so I can manually launch the program.
Add your anti-virus program to Malwarebytes allow list.

Dale,
Thanks for the clarification and additional detail.
I'm using the free edition of Malwarebytes so the premium settings that are available to you are locked out for me.
I'm sorry my statement about the General settings was not clear. As you scroll down the General page there is a setting labeled "Manual scan performance impact". I set mine to "Manual scans take priority". I don't want the program to automatically scan as a background task while I'm doing something else as that slows down the computer. I manually tell the program to scan so I want the program to have a high priority and scan as quickly as possible.

With only 4GB of RAM and especially with the 64 bit version of Win 10, and what is in startup it may slow things down. Not just Malwarebytes, some other program added to the startup could cause the same thing,
Look at what's in the start up as there are probably items/programs that do not need to be in startup. Many programs want to be in startup for "quick start" but in fact do not and start just as fast anyway.
CTRL/ALT/DELETE then select Task Manager (or RIGHT click on the START icon in lower left and select Task Manager). Within Task Manager, click on the Startup tab and it will list what all you have in startup. Post the list here and I will take a look at it.

For testing, disable all the Acronis entries. Then start Malwarebytes and see how it acts.
I gave up on Acronis about 5 years ago and moved on to Macrium Reflect. Less intrusive and Acronis failed me twice trying to do restores and it didn't get a third chance.

I wasn't clear and missed a step. After disabling the Acronis entries, restart the PC before starting Malwarebytes.
If you just disable them, they are already in memory so you wouldn't see a difference. Rebooting takes them out of memory.
