Has anybody tried both these speakers and have a preference or any comments?

For me, definitely the EPS-15C. I used one for several years until I downsized. The EPS-15C, after its broken in, reminds me of the old JBL D and K 130 speakers. I've been downsizing, which means a lot of stuff is being sold, and the EPS-15C was a casualty of that. I'm down to only one amp, a NV112.

I've had two TT12's. One I tried to use with a separate power head but was too much mid/highs for me. Another I tried in a used NV112 that I bought with a Telonics 12" speaker. The Telonics won for me. If you want the current sound I hear from Nashville all E9th, the TT-12 will work. I still play both E9th and C6th and like a little more low end than I could get out of the TT-12. Nothing wrong with the TT-12 just not for me.

Thanks, Jack. To cut down weight, I hope the 15-C (that I have coming in Thursday) can replace my JBL D-130 in my Evans SE 200. If not, then probably my TT-12 in my Elf cabinet.

I did field testing of the EPS-15C for Eminence. When I first got it and tried it (not broken in) my initial impression was "this sounds like the K-130 that I had in a Twin Reverb amp".

Its probably no coincidence that it reminds me of a JBL. The EPS-15C was made to be a direct replacement for the Peavey 1501-4 Black Widow speaker used in steel guitar amps. And the Peavey 1501-4 was made to be a high power version of the JBL D or K speakers that Peavey used in the original Session 400.

I received the EPS-15 yesterday and installed it in my Evans SE 200, replacing the JBL D-130. I couldn't tell a dime's worth of difference and I reduced the amp weight a little over 8 lb so the EPS stays and the JBL goes.

While I was at it, I ran a speaker cable from the speaker output wires to the TT-12 speaker in my Elf amp cabinet. This gave me a direct comparison between the EPS-15 and the TT-12. Like Jack, to my ears, the EPS 15-C was the clear winner.
