Ive got a sho-bud pro 1. my rkr lever is hard to push fully. I geuss it feels a little tight. maybee to much travel time. anyway, Im pushing my whole guitar to the right when I try to engage it. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanx |

Alex - is your knee hitting the lever toward the end, or more towards the middle (or top)? I had the exact same thing with my GFI when I tried using a volume pedal with it, and it simply needed longer legs so I could get decent leverage. |

Don't know why the builders don't agree with my thoughts on this, but I've always felt the first KLs should be on your left knee .... there's more leverage over there.... without your foot up on the volume pedal! Maybe the right knee levers should only be changing one string instead of two! If you're changing only one string & it's that stiff....move the rod closer to the cross shaft where it hooks at the bellcrank! Closer=easier, but more travel. yeah, im definatley hitting the lever up higher due to the volume pedal. closer to the middle, sometimes the top. I geuss this is a common problem for the rk lever. |

Alex - yes, it is - and most makers have longer legs and pedal rods available, or for most models you can get an extension kit - Bobbe Seymour's shop has the kits for sale, and they work great on a Shobud. On my GFI I had to opt for longer parts, as the GFI guitars are not compatible with extension kits.
Figure out where you're hitting the lever and how much extra length you need - I needed 2", but for some it's only an inch. I think a 3-pedal rod and leg extension kit is about 20 bucks, and will solve the problem. Takes about 10 minutes to install! |

To start with, you might make sure you have a Lo–Profile Volume-Pedal. Then if that doesn't help, go with a lift-kit. I measured from the floor to the bottom of the rear-apron and whenever I order a new guitar, I'm sure to specify that much clearence from the floor. If you're buying used, you pretty much have to go the Lift-Kit route, for economic reasons!
