This is the album referred to in that old Winnie Winston book "Pedal Steel Guitar":
"This might be the underground record of steel players. Some of the most beautiful, tasteful steel playing ever recorded. If you want to hear what a steel should sound like, listen to this record. Buddy Emmons, of course."

This book was publish in 1975.

Of course, Miller was much better known for his novelty tunes that made him a star, like "Dang Me", etc. I have never been able to find this record before. Apple Music does not have it.

A classic. I found one on vinyl 25 years ago and would never part with it.

If you're willing to settle for an audio CD, most (if not all) of A Trip In The Country is available on The Best Of Roger Miller Volume One, Country Tunesmith, along with a dozen or so other great tunes.

A fine collection of exquisite songs and some of Buddy Emmons' best work.
