These are SO great! Thanks for doing these Paul. Lloyd's recollection of things is amazing! He remembers radio station call letters from random cities and everything. I can't remember that call letters from the radio station in my home town hardly.

Hi Mike, Hope you are staying safe! No bother here! Everything to build a good foundation is all laid out in my C6th fundamentals course. After you absorb that info, or should you choose? Everything is in the PFM plus its abundant C6th lessons range from how to play Country licks, playing the blues, all the way to how to solo over the changes for Giant Steps. C6th rocks!

Very interesting to hear Lloyd talk about what evolved into the Don Williams band sound. "Minimalist country music" is how Lloyd describes it in this interview: taking stuff away until you achieve what you want.

Result: An unmistakable sonic showcase for Don Williams' unique voice.

I just went through all 5 yesterday.
A lot to learn there about the thinking of two great steelers.
Also so much of the history of the players and development of PSG's and the tunings.
Saw and heard Lloyd at the Texas Jamboree last month. An amazing man to say the very least.

Thank you Paul! Talk to Lloyd all you can. Not very many original Nashville recording personnel left to talk to. I thoroughly enjoy what both of you guys have to say and play. Two legends of pedal steel!

Havent got all the way through this and it's so great to see these two masters talking. Imitation is the highest form of flattery and I've far and away learned the most about this instrument from breaking down Lloyd solos... so I went and did this one..

Wonder if I did it "right"

Of course as always I could have played it much better but... well... i learn em and then 5 minutes later I put em up... then I forget em..so the hard part is remember the phrasing exactly etc.... but parts stay in the brain... its not about learning "licks" its about seeing how someone else approaches changes and learning it to expand your own brain!

For a real STUDY of the instrument I'm sure Pauls course is second to NONE.

Anyways.. great short little solo!
