I didn't know where to post this, so I'll try here.
I had a cool little program that showed the steel fretboard and notes. I think you could put in your pedal/knee changes, too. anyone know what I'm talking about?
thx

I downloaded this program to my computer- now ehen I click open, it says it is installing it, however, it does nothing once it is installed-
when I try enter the program again from the file list, it just does the same thing again.
Absolutely maddening.
If anyone can actually USE this piece of software, please explain how to ACCESS the program for us! |

Mark, It's been several years since I installed it, but here's where mine is installed. (I assume you have Windows)
If you open your Windows Explorer program, find your "Program Files" folder. (Mine's on my C disk). Expand this folder. Scroll down to the S's and look for a folder named "Steel". Open this folder; you'll see some files, one of which is a type "application" named "Steel". Doubleclick on this. Guitarmap should come up.
During my installation, a shortcut was created for the desktop named "Guitar Map". Yours should have one too. If not create one.
From then on you can doubleclick on the shortcut instead of having to drill down into the program files.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

Bill, I don't know, but what version of Windows are you running? Karlis wrote this some years ago, but my Windows version is XP. Prior to that Win95. It downloaded and worked fine with both which were years apart. So it seems funny you get that message.
Maybe Karlis will see your post. |

Bill Duve,
Check that the download has the the right size when it completes. My first try gave the guitarmap.exe but it was short on size and wouldn't install, gave the Win32 App message. Second try worked fine.
