Donny Hinson lives in the Baltimore area, and is a wealth of knowledge on these fine instruments. Maybe contact him thru this forum and see if he'd be interested in helping you out.

Thanks for all the replies. A number of people contacted me privately. This is a really helpful network. Anyway, I am a non pedal steel player about to buy his first pedal steel and I was just looking for people in my area to help me out if I did run into technical problems. I'm new to the forum. Man, talk about getting my $5 worth!
