I have noticed on Sho-Buds that have never been altered since the factory numerous pilot drill holes on the underside of them. I also remember a highly respected steel player in Alberta who used to buy any Pro 11 he could find and he would add many more of these holes. Is there some theory about the effect of these holes or is there some function I haven't been made aware of?

Maybe he hated the Pro-II models?

Bruce,

I'm pretty sure I just bought one of his old Pro II Customs. There are plenty of pilot holes but they all appear to have been drilled before the guitar was finished. There was one knee lever removed and those holes remain but I've already got Blackie Taylor lined up to remedy that problem.
