I have an old Excel 10-string that needs tender loving care...can someone recommend a good tech in LA that can help me with it?

Yup, you want to see Jim Palenscar at Steel Guitars of North County, in Oceanside. Here's a link to his shop: http://www.stlgitr.com/
[This message was edited by Jim Cohen on 19 September 2006 at 07:34 AM.]

Thanks Jim!

It certainly looks like Jim Palenscar could do what I need but Oceanside is a bit of a drive. If there is someone more local to Los Angeles that would be better because I don't have a lot of time but if he's the only option well, I guess I'll just have to travel.

Sure, but you'll have more fun hanging out with Jim for the day and playing with all his toys... Image

Make the time to take it to Jim and you will not be sorry!!! Jim has worked on 3 guitars for me and each one has played and sounded better after he was done.

Hello Steven,
I am in Long Beach and I repair pedal steel guitars as well as teach. Jim is a great guy but the drive argh!
Call me 562-424-2187
And to Jim Cohen- LA to Oceanside is like driving from Philly to Harrisburg and back. Here, plan a whole day for it.
