I have a mid-late 80's Sierra Crown Gearless U-12 that has a RKR lever problem. When it's activated, the lever tends to collide with the right back leg. I try to tighten the allen screw that is supposed to hold it in place, but it soon reverts back to it's old position. The lever cannot be moved any further to the left to avoid the leg. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Sierra makes a lever that does not pivot perpendicular to the strings that will cure this, I have this style on my RKR.

It sounds like the lever is pivoting toward you and then it contacts the leg, correct?

Another solution is to change the leverage so there is less travel in the lever.

RKR requiers a reversing mechanism, and for some reason there is too much slack in that lever.
I would suggest you check for slack (how far the lever moves before the strings begin to raise or lower) and optimize the "stops" on the rails underneath such that the lever just barely moves before the strings are activated.
Note: There needs to be a little slack in there, but not much.

Thanks guys. I recently had the guitar worked on, and the slack was reduced considerably so the travel was shortened. It's better but not totally fixed.
