After replacing one of my trapezoid pickups in my triple neck D-8 I cannot seem to get the options I'm looking for. I am assuming that the 2 way switch either puts all pickups into single mode, OR puts all pickups together. I'm also assuming the 3-way Lever switch then selects pickups in the single selection mode? Does anyone have any information as to how these switching options came from the factory? I am using this wiring which appears to be for a stringmaster and I have it wires as this exactly, but can't seem to get the results I'm looking for.

I don't see how the Stringmaster wiring would be useful. Here is the wiring diagram for the Dual Professional, the double neck version of your guitar.

Well my thought process was that my triple neck has a 3-way lever switch and a DPDT toggle, so I thought it was similar. They did run both productions for a while on Stringmaster and Custom Deluxe's so I figured maybe they were the same. One thing I don't understand is why is the schematic different for these connections with the arrow heads(Red) and these with no arrow heads(Blue)? Why don't they all have arrowheads or not? Are these connections actually soldered wire? As you can probably tell I'm a novice at reading schematics, but I have wired many a guitar regardless! Any help is much appreciated!

The connections without the arrows are indeed soldered connections. The connections with the arrows are the connections made by the switch contacts (2P3T) as it is moved. In this case, the "arrows" would move one position to the left for each of the other two positions. |

The way mine works (which I think is standard) is that the 3 way switch selects one of the necks and the toggle selects all (regardless of the position of three way. |

Yes I stand corrected. My switches needed some exercise, but now work as you described. Thanks! |
