Peavey Session 115 compared to Webb 6-14E

Has anyone had a chance to compare these two amps and if so what are your thoughts? Another question how much difference between the Session 2000 and the Session 115?

Dale out of curiosity why do you prefer the session 115?

The Webb was way to shrill with the guitar that I was playing. I just could not get the highs tamed. The guy I sold it to loves it. He knew I was having issues when I sold it to him but he did not experience the same issues. Different pups and I use an active volumn pedal. I will probably never part with my Session 115. I like it that well. I also have the matching 115N speaker cabinet and when the two are hooked together. Look out. Sounds everywhere and plenty of volumn. I also like that it has built in Delay and reverb so you don't have to carry around a bunch of pedals. It's fairly lightweight. Peavey did a great job designing this one. Just my opinion.

Opinions on amps are a dime a dozen and you really have to find the amp that fits your rig, style and Ear. I had the Peavey session 115 and played through it for severl weeks and gigs. I couldn't wait to list it here for sale. Sold it and went back to my WEBB 6-14e and unlike Dale I had no problem get a great tone and the highs were not a problem...Of course I like a little brighter sound to cut through the other band instruments...bright but a sweet bright not a shrill dagger bright. Of course a lot of steel players don't like it bright because you can hear everything and it exposes technique flaws. If you want to improve technique then brighten things up and you will certainly find out where you need improvement....The Webb amp is one of the cadillac amps and won't work for everybody I suppose because every guitar has its own unique characteristics and some tend to be a little tinny with any amp some sound a little dirty with any amp but the Webb has virtually nearly unlimited settings and the only guitar I found that didn't sound good with any amp was a LDG SD10 ShoBud which was the worste sounding ShoBud I have ever heard/played in 30 years! So opinions on amps is a dime a dozen and your ear is the key to finding the sound you want...JMHO

I have owned both amps (though not at the same time).

I was one of the original Webb dealers and at one time owned 4 of them, with the slave speakers. Yowee.

However, I never really got the sound I preferred with the Webb, though many people do. Just listen to Tommy White on the Opry.

I have the first Session 115 that was built. It had to go back several times because of some issues. Peavey has since resolved those issues in my amp and incorporated the "fix" into the new Session 115's.
I absolutely love my Session 115 as I do my Nashville 112 and my Telonics Combo 112.

So as has been said before, it is all a matter of preference to YOUR ear.

I can dial in any of my amps to sound almost the same, which is what my ear is looking for. So I have no problem playing through most any QUALITY amp.

Some great responses here, Not surprised that different players had different takes on the same amp.

I’d love to have a 115 to try, and maybe will someday, but I’ve already got way too many amps.

I have a WEBB , and used it a bit, and moved on to more modern amps. I’m an amp junky, and always wanted to try the latest and greatest, in addition to all the classics.

Here’s the cool part with the WEBB. I recently started fooling with it in my home. Over time, and with the help of the forum searches, I’ve learned to dial it in much better. I think over time, I’ve learned to EQ any amp much better as well.

It’s a completely different amp now that I have it really dialed in, and it’s fantastic.
