Lookie what I found! (push/pull stuff)

I was going through my dad's machine parts and crud, and look what turned up!
They seem to be plated brass. I have no clue where he got these, or what they're supposed to be for (other than push/pull parts
, but maybe the numbers on the box are a clue;
Anyway, that's it. Nice to have some spares around. I wonder what else he has stashed away.

You can still buy collars any size.Du-bro manufactures them for model airplanes.

Or you can buy the originals from Steel Guitar World for $1.29 each, chrome plated and all, Quanities over 15.

I HAVE AND OLD PRE-MICRO MSA THAT USES THESE SHAFT COLLARS. IT DOES NOT HAVE BELL CRANKS BUT USES RODS AND COLLARS LIKE THESE. DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR TO ANYONE? DID MSA MAKE A PUSH PULL? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS THAT I HAVE. REESE SAID IT WAS MADE IN 1970 AND ALSO DIDN'T KNOW MUCH. ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYHTHING CAN EMAIL ME, I'D LOVE THAT.
I ENDED UP HAVING TO ROUND UP A BUNCH OF THESE. THE MANUFACTURING COMPANIES HAVE HUGE MINIMUM PURCHASES, SO I HAVE QUITE A FEW SITTING AROUND IF ANYONE NEEDS THEM. THESE WERE HARD TO GET, I BET IT WAS NICE TO FIND THEM LAYING AROUND. TRY WALKING INTO AN AUTO PARTS STORE AND ASKING FOR SHAFT COLLARS THIS SMALL... HA!

No but walk into any model shop that has parts for planes and helicopters or boats and you can buy any size you want and I think they come 4 to a pkg.

Do you think they would lock my Dekley pedal rods onto the bellcranks so they don't fall out when I miss and kick 'em sideways? (No. 4 keeps fallin' out on me...)
(Or maybe I should learn not to miss...)

Or, you can order from McMaster-Carr.
They stock set collars in many sizes, also stand-offs that will fit bellcranks, stand-offs have to be drilled for pullrod size, but are drilled/tapped for setscrew.
Or, try your local mill supply.(take a sample with you)

The ax i'm practicing with (pictured in 'roller nut question' thread) uses these. I don't know if you'd call it 'push-pull', it's more like 'pull then let go' - but it works amazingly well.<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by C.
