"Cherokee" arranged for non-pedal
So, I've been working on playing more jazz & Cherokee has always been a song I liked. I've only really heard it played with pedals in the steel guitar realm.
Here it is in a modified A6 tuning (E, C#, A, F#, E, C#, Bb, G) & played quite a bit faster than I was intending.

Hope you enjoy

Thanks Rich!
I'm playing through a Spitfire distortion pedal made by Lauren Audio. Running that into my interface & using Bias Amp 2 for some amp modeling.
I also use Thomastik Infeld Flatwound strings. I think they're the best sounding strings you can buy. They're nickel flats, while most others are stainless steel. They resonate differently and last longer, but they're much more expensive.

Nice. Have you heard Rich Arnold's stuff? You'll get some inspiration: https://www.facebook.com/rich.arnold.94 ... 672957608/

I use the Bb tuning set up for a few different reasons. First was to be consistent in positions with my pedal steel tuned to a Universal Bb6 [hardly play it anymore]. Another reason is that I play several songs in the key of C that is on the second fret. I find it useful to get a neat sounding & useful C7/9 in open strings by placing the tone bar on strings 5 & 6. That allows sweep of strings 2 thru 6. You may notice a duplication of the notes on string 4 & 5. On my steel the sweeps rings nicely or I can also, & often do, skip one of the duplicated notes. The group I Jam with would have trouble backing up in the key of B to get the same effect &/or transition chord. Not sure I said that well but I'm sure you will understand.
