I can't seem to find any info online... I have some suspicions on a few guys it could be but id like to hear some of your opinions. Or! If you know who is playing steel on this Steve Wariner classic!!
I'm leaning towards Sonny Garish or Weldon Myrick...

You can often find credits by using AllMusic.com
My guess on that song would be Sonny.

On one of Steve's latest records called "Guitar Laboratory", there's a little song on there called "Steelness", where he's actually playing pedal steel, and on another song, he's playing a Rickenbacher lap steel. Steve plays acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitar, and Dobro guitar. Steve's dad was a steel player too, and in one video where Steve is talking about lap steel, an Emmons pedal steel can be seen in the background, which is his Emmons

Just a guess...If it's John, the engineer added the reverb because I don't think I've heard him that wet before. On the other hand, if it was Sonny, it didn't sound like his "stacked" sound. My guess is Sonny.
John did do Lonely Women Make Good Lovers.
