As my Roland amps age, they are sounding better and better.
I run a 1/4 inch guitar cable from the Line Out to the p.a. board.
Small, lightweight amp ... big, clear sound.

Lee, I too like the Cube 80 though I usually run my Peavey 112 for a steel gig. I find I have to roll off highs on The Cube when I run steel through it.
Sometimes I run 2 amps--just for the spread not the volume. I'll run a cord out of the 2nd Peavey input to the Cube.
The Cube has a smaller footprint, a bit lighter . .. so tonight for my [jazz] guitar gig I'll take the Cube.

| I have the gx80,which I use for double duty guitar and steel. I really like my Nashville 112 much better, but the Roland does have a good tone. It's also very easy to haul to rehearsals. |

FWIW, when I use (my) two Cube 60 amps in mono, similarly for 'spread', I take a line out of the "Tuner" jack on the back of amp#1 and run it to the input of amp#2.
I use a buffer in the circuit to assist with tendency of the increased capacitance of the 'longer' cable run to amp#2 becoming a low-pass filter.
When I'm using them for synth-guitar stuff, I run stereo lines out from the processor and treat the amp#1 as "left' & amp#2 as "right"...
YMMV, but it works for me...

We played several outdoor events on beautiful South Texas ranches this summer. We played another one this past Friday night.
The guy that runs our sound said my Cube sends out a crystal clear, quiet signal. He leaves the eq flat. The sound I am hearing through the monitors is wonderful.
I rarely use my Evans or Fender any more.

Do you hear the sound of the monitor over the sound of the Cube? How do the two different sound sources compare? |

Fred, I have the amp on a short stand, tilted back, about 6 feet behind me. I can hear the amp and the floor monitor. It's a big sound, but not loud. Our stage levels are quite low. Our drummer is using electronic drums. That helps a lot.
I've played lots of gigs without running the amp (sometimes two of them) through the p.a. Those little amps sing nicely when cranked up past the 12 o'clock mark.

| Perhaps as a testament to your opinion, Lee, there are NO Cube 80XL’s on the market. Not on Amazon, Reverb, here, eBay. Looks like people want to keep them. Lots of GX’s for sale though... |
