I FIRED UP MY TURNTABLE TODAY AND THE FIRST LP I PUT ON WAS HAL RUGG'S ALTERED EGO. ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!HONESTLY I HAD FORGOTTEN HOW INCREDIBLY TALENTED THE MAN WAS.

Yes I have that one too. I also got his 2 CD releases from later years. All good stuff.

Right- Hal was so much more than he was given credit for. A great innovator in the recording studios.

I think Hal and Weldon invented a lot of the licks that folks still play.

One of my favorite kickoffs is Hal Rugg playing "When The Tingle Becomes A Chill" by Loretta Lynn. In fact I never heard Hal play anything that was not good. He was a monster player for sure.
