Wow Doug, that is quite a lineup. Three days of steelers sounds like a lot of fun. A bit to far for me to travel.

Good luck with the show - hope it is a grand time for all.

KSGA October (4th,5th,6th) Show Player's List and Time

FYI. Check this list often. While everyone has been contacted and committed to the times, circumstances beyond our control could cause the times to shift due to players needing to adjust travel times or last minute gig conflicts among other circumstances. If your name is on the list and you need to make a change, please call me at 417-499-3187 at the earliest possible time. I can't guarantee we can accommodate you, but every effort will be given to make it happen. Thank you all for your support and your commitment to both your craft and the continuance of all shows.

Only a couple of adjustments to the calendar. Had a couple of people have personal impacts and had to cancel, but we had people on a wait list, so we're still in great shape.

Thanks Doug for stoking the fire. She's building up quite a head of steam.... I'm really looking forward to the show!

I wish I could be there for the takeoff but got a gig Friday night...Be there Saturday morning, LORD willing.

Well, play pretty. If you have any kind of delays, let me know and we'll re-arrange accordingly. Joe does a good job of handling that on the days of the show. Really appreciate all your support for this show. Look forward to seeing and hearing you.

Would someone provide more location information for those of us far away? Address, building name, cost, etc.

Thanks,

Kansas Steel Guitar Association 17th Annual Steel Guitar show occurs in Baxter Springs, KS the first weekend in October each year. This year's dates are October 4-6, with a picnic and dance on the 3rd. The venue is located at 11th and East Street in Baxter Springs. That is the local Community Center. There is no charge for this show and all persons eat for free. Donations are appreciated, but not required. There is a drawing for a Steel Seat with a donation of $5.00. There are numerous 50/50 drawings throughout the show. There are vendors selling wares and several artist will be selling their merchandise. This is a well attended event with over 500 people attending throughout the 3 day event. This year, Baxter Springs is also have a Fall Festival on Saturday, so there is lots to do outside the steel show if you have family members who look for other distractions. Car show, arts and crafts, etc. Good times.

What a great show. The band was super, the players excellent and the overall sound was spectacular. Not only that but the food was even better. Thanks to Doug, Lee and all the ladies for a wonderful weekend. Special thanks to the band for impressive playing while backing up the artists. Looking forward to next year 2020.

Our thanks to everyone who attended our show...both players and audience. It truly was a tremendous show. If you want to see some of the highlights, visit the KSGA Group Page on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1694542493962743

You'll find videos, pictures, comments and commentary. You will also have a chance to become a member of the group page. We have over 300 members to our page and hope to top 400 sometimes before next year's show. We had 9 first time players, 5 second time players and the remainder in multi-year players. We had some exciting young players this year which was encouraging to the craft. Even our audience seemed to be younger than normal....just a guess, but I think I'm right.

We had a great dance, some deserving award recipients, tremendous food and just good vibes the entire show. If you missed it, you only cheated yourself. See you next year.
