My Steel Guitar Fan Is Gone

Post by William Kendrick »

I lost my mother on Mother's Day in May. She was 95 2 days prior. She was a real steel guitar fan. I remember back in the 80's when her and me would travel into Minnesota to attend a Buddy Emmons concert. And when she went with me to Nashville when I took lessons from Jimmie Crawford and Doug Jernigan. I loaded her computer with steel guitar music and she would sit in her chair in the living room and listen to it all day long. And, in her final days, she did nothing but listen to her CDs of David Hartley and John Stannard. I love you, Mom!

Sad Loss...

Sad news about your mother... but a fitting commentary on her love of good music. It's tough to lose a friend like that, I know.

Comfort and peace at your loss. My mom passed away from cancer 31 years ago when she was 57. I think of her every day still.

Your mother was much like mine. Supportive of your music and always a fan. Indeed special qualities for a budding musician. God rest her soul, and bless all the mothers and wives who were our strongest allies.

Sorry for your loss. I hope you can find comfort in knowing you had the chance for her to hear you. Something to be grateful for.

I would have loved for my mom to have heard me play music. Sounds like she was a special lady.
