A good friend will be in Nashville from September 1 through 9. Any live music suggestions (any genre) would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Bob,

For Country music with Steel, go to the Opryland area around Music Valley Drive.

Nashville Palace Tuesdays 2:00 PM on and Wednesdays 4:30 pm on.

Behind there you have Music City Bar and Grill. Tuesday and Wednesday night they have a great group.

Also the Scoreborad right behind the Palace.

All these places have great parking and it's all free without the downtown crowd.

Thanks again Ron. I've passed your suggestions on to my buddy. He's in for a good time I am sure.

Gary Gibson isn't playing at the Nashville Palace at 2 on Tuesdays anymore, so you may not find a steel there then.

Here is the band schedule for the Palace. Look for names BECKY HENSON or MEL TILLIS Jr. With then you'll see steel guitar. But the bulk of the bands DO NOT have steel, sad to say.

Mel Tillis Jr. really has a good show, the only criticism I have is avoid going to see him soon a second time as his show is almost exactly the same, the two times I saw him, he even repeats the same stories. He has a great band and sings a lot like his father. The times I saw him he had Ernie Reed and Joe Spivey on twin fiddles and Mike Sweeney on steel, that is really a treat.

Really sorry to see Gary Gibson go, he has a killer band, they still play at AJ's on Saturday afternoons.
