Ive always been a stock pickup guy because I love the vintage sounds of the guitar I purchase, but right now I have a Emmons SKH and love the original pick ups but for fun wanted to try something new, I was thinking about a BL 710, looking for some suggestions, also for this guitar if I do get a 710 does anyone know if I need to buy the narrow or wide mount version. thanks so much for your help!!!

A 710 might sound pretty good in that steel. Its a great sounding guitar in the first place. You will want a wide mount pickup for the Emmons.

Have two SKH models, a D-10 and SD-10. The D-10 has the stock Emmons single coils but installed a Telonics '84' in my SD-10 and to my ears, it is a perfect match.

evidently I'm still very old school. Due to historical nature, ( experience of the rooms I've played over the last many years) of my two Emmons Steels, the PP has the stock pups while the Legrande II has a GL E66 on the E9th and a 10:1 on the C6th.
On the Legrande, nobody has ever ran up and said "Hey Dude whats with the GL's" ? But if the room requires a Humbucker , I'm good to go !

I have an Emmons D10 SKH. It has a George L E-66 on the E9 & a George L 10-1 on the C6. Widemounts for sure.
Excellent all the way around. Great match & keepers for sure! Tone to the bone!
Best, Pat
Oh yeah, that's it in my photo!😆
