Not sure if this has come up in the past....
Condition seems pretty good.

Curly Fender
I thought I had a deal worked out on this guitar, but the family wanted it picked up in person at the time. I just wanna jump in and say that I verified as well as I could the familiy’s story on this guitar. After talking to several folks, including Mr. Johnny Cox who hopefully will chime in, I was satisfied that this fender was built for, used and owned by Curly. It’s not THE Curly fender a la “Big Hits,†which the family was originally claiming, but it’s the real deal.

Well, I had been looking for a Fender 1000--sold my last one a few years back and sort of missed it. This one came along with 10 pedals and pedigree to boot, so I bought it.
It was in really good shape, but pretty dirty and gummy and still strung with 30 or 40 year old strings (pretty much in tune!) I tore it down, soaked everything in naphtha and scrubbed and lubed it. I put it back together with Curly's copedent as published earlier here on the forum with C6 on the outside neck. Pedal 10 was still set up for four pulls, so setting it up was more or less a piece of cake.
The thing sounds and plays like a Fender cable guitar should. I've been playing the C neck, but I'll get around to trying to figure out the F13 too.
Anyway, it's nice to have a 1000 again and this one's pretty special.
