Great Accessory for Pedal Steel Workstand

Post by Al Evans »

The Steel Guitar Forum workstand is a great thing, but I've had a hard time figuring out where to put it. My workbench is meant for working on fairly small objects close to the surface, so with the stand on the bench and a pedal steel on the stand, I had to stand up and bend over a lot. The floor gave me the opposite problem -- at 73, getting up and down is no fun any more.

A few days ago, I had a brilliant idea: how about one of those folding luggage racks like in hotel rooms? I tested it out with a borrowed luggage rack, then ordered this one. It's exactly the right height for a comfortable arm position, and my knees will fit under it, just barely. I got it really cheap, and I can't find them at that price any more, but they don't cost much anyway, maybe $25.

Great idea Al, and I see even the chair folds to save space when not being used also.
