Hey guys question for you… All opinions are appreciated, just curious to know if it would be possible to run stereo with a monitor ? I’m playing out of a quilter steelaire, but when i’m playing big venues I need a little more juice and like the feeling of playing stereo..I was thinking about talking to the guys at Paico And getting a Webber jbl Neo speaker for the monitor. Just curious on how and if it’s possible to daisy chain the two without negative effects ....? Any Ideas ? |

Daisy chaining form the amp with another speaker would not be stereo. that would just be mono with an extension speaker, even if the speaker had its own amp. It has to be separated Left/Right at some point. That requires 2 amps with a dedicated channel per amp,
I run into a OTO BIM stereo delay. Mono in and then stereo out to 2 different amplifiers,
(a Jim Kelley and a Tweed Vibrolux)
You don't need a delay to do the split, any passive mono split to L/R will work.

Like Joseph said, Running 2 speakers do not make it stereo without the right Amp. set up.
To me a stereo setup is too heavy and hard to haul around, If you played a gig where it was set up and left for weeks at a time would not be bad. My Peavey Tube-fex, Power amp., Rack Box and 2 15" Black Widow speakers stay home anymore.
If your Quilter Steel Air Amp. has a plug in, For a Microphone cable, Where you can run direct into the PA Control board. That may be a light easy way to get what you are wanting for larger venues. I used this setup in one band I played with in a large Moose Lodge.
Good Luck and Happy Steelin. |

It might not be true stereo, but using 2 amps, or having a send come thru a monitor - and separating them a bit - will sound "pseudo-stereo", since you'll hear it from 2 locations.
It'll sound louder, that's for sure...which I think is what you're after, and it'll sound pretty darn good. |

Here's how I run stereo...2 amps; the main steel amp & a small Fender Sidekick switcher, next to each other. I use a Boss DD3 stereo delay, with the main output going to the steel amp, and the delay note ONLY going to the Fender. Sounds really "big".
I only do this for the better paying gigs; most don't pay enough for me to carry 2 amps. _________________ A couple D-10s,some vintage guitars & amps, & lotsa junk in the gig bag. |

Unless the PA is stereo with real separation, no one but you will really hear any difference. If you have only delay going to one amp like Rich does, the audience won’t hear that effect.
That being said, I run stereo sometimes and I love the way it sounds. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Danelectro, Evans, Fender, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |
