Yes here's a Album Produced by Two Steel players> (Ricky Davis and Tommy Detamore); and All songs are written by Weldon Henson; except the 1st one; as "Hey Bottle of Whiskey" was a Non-charting song by Gary Stewart many years ago; he gave to Weldon to cut.

Yola's "Walk Through Fire". Basically sounds like an early 70s countrypolitan record except with an amazing soul singer on lead vocals.

"I Am Yours" gospel album by Jake Hooker & the Outsiders. Some great steel and twin fiddles and of course, excellent upright bass. Drummer is sure in the game too.

I can second Cody Jinks. He's in the alternative country genre. The man doesn't just sound country... he is country, which it sounds like you're looking for. The songs feel auto-biographical and come from 'country' perspective on the world. Nothing against roots-ier stuff, but sometimes you want something that sounds more real and personal.

Yes Curt, and great steel on all of them mostly from forum members, And I'm all in with Weldon Henson and Ricky, got all his Cds and they are awesome, Ricky is the best and is helping to keep Texas Honky Tonk alive and well, or should I say Weldon

It's been out for years now but one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years - Peter Cooper's album which is called The Lloyd Green Album. Great song writing by Peter Cooper and Lloyd Green is all over every song. It is basically a singer/songwriter (Peter) with a pedal steel player (Lloyd Green). Excellent!

It's possible there's PS on some other songs but if so, it's buried way back in the mix.
