Anyone want a challenge?
Post your version of Amazing Grace here in two weeks (Sunday May 19)
An original version is preferred but playing someone else’s arrangement is fine.
Pedal/non-pedal/dobro whatever. Do the best you can.
(Delete if this isn’t kosher)

I believe this link will work. Someone click on it to make sure, please!
Not the best work, but it's something I threw together for a radio show a few years ago.

I missed my own deadline. Mines a lot less polished but the best I could squeak out at the moment.

Amazing Grace is an interesting song to play. For the past couple of years I did a stint with a band at a monthly Fri night dance, the closing song was always a Gospel song. Typically everyone in the room would stand in a big circle and hold hands while we played the praise song.
One time I called Amazing Grace, we played it and all of a sudden people were slow dancing (3/4) to a Gospel song. HUH ?
It became a Fri Night favorite, so much so that other bands were requested to play Amazing Grace as the last song of the evening ! Go figure.

only 4 posts with a track ! really ?
I personally would love to hear many different players versions, novice to pro.
It's not a contest ! Its not about who's is better or worse
Its supposed to be our version , not posting a version done by a pro or someone else.
Its family.

Absolutely Outstanding Tony !! What type of compression are you using?

Billy-
I hope you would reconsider putting your version back in. As it was mentioned, this was not a competition, but your expression of a great song. Besides, yours was a version that I personally could really get into.

Thx Greg for that , much appreciated.
I track everything direct , this track uses compression on the DBX 376 Channel strip printed to the track , along with EQ. Nothing extravagant . I do use a quick and simple T-Racks Mastering Suite profile mostly to even things out and keep the levels consistent. Not to be considered PRO Mastering by any stretch. But for Home , Net or Demo use its a nice tool and user friendly.
Listening back to the MP3 it seems it's a tad more compressed than the two track wav master, probably from the 128 MP3 conversion . Oh well !
Listening to each of the posted tracks, we have a really fine group of players hanging out here ! I personally enjoy listening to each. I'm just glad to be a part of the party !
Plus we actually get to SEE Bob play, how kool is that !
I hope Billy puts his track back up as well.

Thank you Tony, I might add, they are NO other instruments on this recording, just pre recorded choir voices.
