| i just traded to get a sd-10 gfi 3 & 4. wow what a sound and sustain. i have had several other brands but this gfi blows them away. i won't say what other brands for sake of argument. if you haven't tried a gfi and you have access to one by all means try one. you won't be disappointed. |

I second it, Jimmy. I've had mine for about a year and a half and about the only thing I'd trade it for is another one. There would be no reason to sustain a note as long as they ring out on that guitar. And the pedal action is wonderful.
I wouldn't give up my ZB, but they're like the difference between a Les Paul and a Strat. Each has their place. The GFI fits the contemporary sound better and the ZB shines on the traditional stuff, although it's a good rocker too.
My GFI's a keyless and that alone would compel me to buy another one. The only thing that would tempt me is perhaps a Williams keyless in a crossover configuration and then only because the crossover system intrigues me and the eye candy value of some of those Williams finishes is amazing. They make some beautiful guitars.
But, for a working guitar, the GFI's a tough act to follow in my opinion. Of course, who cares about my opinion when it comes to steel guitars besides me? :~P |

| GFIs are great guitars. I've had my D-10 since 2004 and it's an amazing guitar! Last year, I played it at eight steel guitar shows and I think the GFI is the best steel I've ever played. I love GFI! Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10 |

| Hey Jimmie, I glad you like the GFI, I figured you would. One of my best friends who is a MSA man all the way has a new addition to his family. He wanted it after I described it over the phone but when he saw it, that's all it took. Everybody came out a winner on this deal. |

I've had my GFI all Over this big ole world, and last nite i took my EMMONS LL2 out on a gig, Just For Old time sake! Well Needless to say after the first set i looked at the guitar player and said " This Babys Gone Back Home Under The Bed"... No Kiding, The GFI blowed it away as far as tone, sustain, tuning, and of course string life... So The Emmons Is Now a Practice guitar only..  I am now playing a GFI D-10 8&5 Keyless..
I had someone tell me, " I just Cant Get Past THe Different Look Of Them Guitars"..
My Reply was, Do want a guitar that makes YOU look good or one that makes YOU sound good?
Words to live by.. Now be ready GFI players here comes the hanging mob!

I do. I can tell by your grammer that you are obviously an educated man.
People are reluctant to try a keyless, simply because they "look different". Of course they do!
A BMW or Porsche looks different than an Edsel.
It's all in the engineering.
The symmetry and compactness of a keyless guitar looks smart to me.
Smart, by design.

A high-five from another recent addition to the GFI family. My 2001 D10 Ultra and I are getting along great, and the parts/mechanical support from Bob and pro testimonials from the likes of Mr. Sigler are just icing on the cake.
But let's face it: looks/aesthetics do matter to most steel players. GFI's look to me says "we spent our time and resources on design and bang-for-buck value"... Plainly put, it was the most and best guitar I could get for my first D10 investment, and I'm not disappointed!! |

My black keyless GFI S10 with a pad is the nicest looking guitar I've ever seen -- if I do so myself. And the sound ain't bad, either!

| More that likely, when I find a good deal on a D-10 GFI(with keys), I'll probably make it one of my personal guitars. They are indeed, one of the best built guitars on the market. It'll join my Carter S12U, 9 & 5, red BE mica, 06' model. |
