what chord is this

i just added a 4th string pull to f#,,what chord is it when i use it in a pedals down position,,i know i should know this,,but i don't, thanks

Assuming you're talking about the BC pedals, it's a minor 2 from the root. Example: If you're at the 3rd fret G (no pedals), when you engage the BC pedals you have an A minor. Most pedal steels have the E-F# on the C pedal along with a B-C#, so I assume this is change of which you speak.

If your playing a Pedals down "A" chord and you raise the 4th string a whole tone from E to F#; than you are raising the 5th tone of the A chord up to the 6th tone of the A chord....>so it's a "A6".

A - C# - F# = F#m. Same notes as BC pedals in the open position, should be the same IIm chord. IMHO
