Emmons Push/Pull pickup

Post by Kevin Post »

I want to drop some humbuckers in my late 70's Emmons. Any thoughts?

I want to do the same thing with my p/p.
Anyone have any comments on the Emmons humbucking p/u's or the Bill Lawrence p/u's?
Thanks...

Bill Lawrence 710s have been in my 74 emmons for about 8 or 9 years. I am very pleased with them still.

Does Bill Lawrence offer the 710 anymore, or is it called a 700 now?

He also has something called the LXR-16 Series... what's the difference?

I put the LxR-16's in my emmons LL and found they had a litte more body and stronger bass response than the 710's.

The Emmons humbuckers are great in my LeGrande II but I have always kept the stock Emmons single coils in my push pulls. To me they just sound too good to mess with.

I have George L E-66s in all my push-pull guitars...it is REAL close to the original sound without the noise!

I've just recently replaced a set of dual coils with E66's on my 78' p/p. Quiet with great sound and tone. No problems at all. I still like the XR-16 on my Carter S-12U though. I'll bet SEYMOUR put his magic touch on the 66's is the reason they sound so good. Ha! As usual BS was correct. He said the E66's were one of the best sounding p/u's on the market today.
